it rained in the night, and then early this morning.the thunder rumbled off in the distance and the sound of the rain drops came slowly from the west.it was around 4;00 am, the street was still empty and I was able to enjoy the peacefulness.before the city woke up.
in the dark room I could tell when the lighting flashed.I could see it light up my covered windows.
the weatherman had said we may have some storms.but we only received a mild rain storm.

Rain? Now I know I use to know what rain was. I haven't seen it in a very long time. I think California is the only place where people will stop what they are doing to come and watch water fall from the sky. We have had less than 2" of rain this year. The seasons are completely off. I don't know what to expect from the weather come this fall.
We're getting quite a bit of those rain storms here too and I love them! :)
Hi Leann ~~ Glad you enjoyed the storm. I have a tiled roof and don't even hear the rain ( when we get some). I miss hearing the rain.
Thanks for your comments, I had to laugh at your grandson's idea of "gay" Kilts must puzzle kids, as they do some adults. Glad you liked the picture of the patch of grass.
I thought it was wonderful for the
soldiers to see a patch of home.
Bless all the service men and women away from their homes and loved ones. Don't give up on us Leann
you teach us so much and I love to hear about your younger years and
happy times. Take care, Love, Merle.
Hey Leann, I loved your description of the peaceful moments in your room, with the empty street below and the thunder and rain. It was so evocative.
Thanks for visiting my photo journal and blog. It felt like you pulled up a chair and had a cup of tea with me!
Rain storms, especially with thunder, make me want to crawl under a cozy blanket and take a nap!
We haven't been getting much rain here and I have been doing a lot of watering in the gardens.
I can do without the electrical storms because they cause too much trouble.
Kathy my dear I been praying for the rain to go to the places needed.
do you remember when they use to have rain makers come or pray for rain?
Id do a rain dance for you but the problem is we dont need a earth quake to.ha ha..
me shaking all this fat around would cause more harm then good so Ill just pray its safer that way.
I can just hear the Lord saying I shouldnt talk about my self that way.
but its true and Id rather have people laugh with me then at me..
:)
overwhelmed:) thanks for stopping.we needed rain we are way down this year to.we get some but not the amount we need.so when one comes I love it.take care and God bless.:)
Merle;I dont have a roof above me just some old guy who makes funny nosies so you wonder what the heck he is doing.
Id love to be in a house with a roof.love to go to sleep hearing the rain on the roof.
yes my grandkids get me to crack up every now and then.
my one grandson say,s now and then."Na you should look for a black guy they love geto butty.you and momma have geto butty."
now I have a big back porch,a big back proch..and it aint screened in if you get my drift.my back 40 would scare most men off.and I am sure even a black man.but my grandson I guess doesnt like seeing me alone.and he loves me so he figures there most be a man out there for me.
but I just say I have all the men I need around me.
thanks for your nice words about my blog.some times I feel I should just stop cause when I vent to get it off my chest I may offend some.but this is the only place I can do it.:)
